Obersvations from behind the desk.

"Concentrated listening requires effort, an act of willpower;
to listen is to defy music.
To listen is to exclude and to introduce. (Adlikno "Media Archive)

											Creature,
seems to have moved into the larger room, this is much
better. There is a feeling of wanting to be there,
of staying, hanging around. More air space.

My first time DJing,
except for playing music to friends and pushing it in cafe's, more like
music selection than anything else.

I see why the dj turns up late. So bad hanging round,
it's hard to listen to what others are doing while freting.
Before me the audience is blind folded for a performance.
Most take them off feeling freer to listen without the presure.
Music which needs to be listened to does not need these sort of
	control devices.

After the usually start up hickups, my set is far from seamless,
I find myself enjoying the nob turning.
The music is moved from
	Disinformation through Terre Thaemlitz,
then into music FX Randomiz, Rotor, Scanner, To Rocco Rot,
	and up to Auctechre, Panasonic,
crashing in minimalist fashion with Noto and Ikeda.

Starting with biostatic whisper and power loop drone from the radiosphere and
ending with high frequency sounds and
subsonic rumbles from within the computer.

			...the music cracking, sparking,
						clicking.
A few treble frights and bass suprises.

The main problem I had was that behind the desk I was by
myself, alone. I would have like to chat to those in front
while listening. Instead I found myself behind a desk
choosing the music then waiting for the track to finish
before change to the next...
