By way of a review
          of sorts

Matthew Thomas, p3 (dorobo)
-------

Looking for words....lifting a couple of small bricks,
while music from Adelaide finds itself on high rotation
   ....recent memories on a rooftop talking about
           what they put in the water down there....

-------

     a sonic realm where the listener is gently
     lead somewhere and asked to
     sit and listen. (press release for p3)"

    ...nearing the end of the first
                   track I find myself with
                                         ear
pressed up against a speaker with the volume 3/4's.
   I've been gently lead there. Trying to get closer....
I can't quite hear the sounds...subsonic?...
   then the second track starts up with a
                     nasty click  /      scrape...
     needless to say I won't be doing that again.

This is not music for testing your cd player on.
     The sounds are broken up, like they are
fighting to get through faulty equipment;
                           humming leads, switches.
        Then a rhythm starts up, looping around, swaying.
	The idea of a noisescape. Layers of noise built up
until it becomes a landscape of sound. Gentile in share
                          volume.
        But   this isn't like that.
                 Its like Matthew Thomas has built up the
scape then smashed it...
  put it through some fucked up crappy black boxes, and recorded it!
           Sounds stop, break, start over and over
as the volume changes;
        cracks, sparks, cuts out.

                  -testing music for broken connections.
